Theocharis Tsampouras, Archaeologist, Head of the Educational Program
Theocharis graduated from the Department of History and Archaeology of the Faculty of Philosophy with a degree in Archaology (2002) and History (2004). In 2013 he was awarded a PhD in Byzantine Archaeology at the same department and in 2014-2015 he received the Mary Seeger O' Boyle scholarship for a postdoctoral research at the Hellenic Studies Center at Princeton University, U.S.A. He has teached Art History at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the University of Western Macedonia, where he is doing his second PhD. He is currently working as a permanent archaeologist at the Ephorate of Antiquities in Kozani. His research interests cover several aspects of post byzantine art with a focus on the paintings of itinerant artistic workshops from the 16th to the early 19th century.
