The Ephorate of Antiquities of Kozani
The Ephorate of Antiquities of Kozani is the implementing body of the educational program “The Colours of Siatista” co-funded by Greece and the European Union (European Social Fund) through the NSRF 2014-2020 in the framework of the Operational Program “Human Resources Development, Education & Lifelong Learning”.
The Ephorate of Antiquities of Kozani is part of the General Directorate of Antiquities and Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Culture and Sports and operates as a Regional Service at the level of Directorate. It has spatial responsibility for the Regional Unit of Kozani and its seat is in Aiani, Kozani. The Ephorate of Antiquities of Kozani exercises its responsibilities locally within the boundaries of the Regional Unit of Kozani, cooperating with the respective Directorates of the Central Service and other Services of the Ministry of Culture and Sports and carries out projects, which are included in the annual Action Programmes, as approved by the Minister, after consultation of the relevant Councils. The staff of the Ephorate of Antiquities of Kozani participates in the above described work as well as in conducting systematic and rescue excavations or other archaeological works and research, in the study and organization of permanent and periodic exhibitions, in the design and operation of archaeological sites, in the organization, operation and promotion of museums, as well as educational programs implemented within them or in the monuments and archaeological sites in the area of its jurisdiction.
