The Ephorate of Antiquities of Kozani has the pleasure to invite you to the scientific conference entitled “The Poulko\u2019s Mansion and its era” which will take place on 23 September 2023, Saturday, at the Voudourion Cultural Centre in Siatista. The conference is organized in the framework of the educational program entitled “The Colors of Siatista”, which is implemented by the Ephorate of Antiquities of Kozani at the Poulko\u2019s Mansion and the Mansion of Argyriadis -Maliogas in Siatista and is co-funded by Greece and the European Union (European Social Fund) through the Operational Program “Human Resources Development, Education and Lifelong Learning, NSRF 2014-2020”.<\/p>\r\n

<\/p>\r\n

What does the conference include? <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\r\n

The educational program “The Colours of Siatista”, its objectives, the pedagogical methods and the tools used will be presented in detail.<\/p>\r\n

However, our aim is to revive the interest of the local community in the mansions of Siatista through the presentation of general and specific aspects of the history, painting, decoration (woodcarving and stone carving) and of course the architecture of the Poulkos mansion, in an effort to integrate this unique 18th century monument in its social, historical and artistic context.<\/p>\r\n

With this in mind, 21 specialised scientists (university professors, archaeologists, architects, historians, conservators) were invited, with the aim of contributing to the integration of the secular monuments of this period in a modern (theoretical and methodological) context, and to provide direct and scientific feedback for the educational program implemented in this particular mansion.<\/p>\r\n

Who is the conference for? <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\r\n

The conference is addressed to the general public who want to come into a first contact with the monuments of the secular architecture of the 18th century in Siatista, but also to people with special interests who want to get to know in depth details of the Poulkos Mansion, its architecture, decoration and history.<\/p>\r\n

A special invitation is addressed to primary and secondary school teachers who have either already taken part in the educational program “The Colors of Siatista” or plan to take part in it in the future. Those teachers who wish to do so will be issued with certificates of attendance.<\/p>\r\n
